On the road.....

-PLEASE READ THE RULES BEFORE HEADING OUT-

The Hiker is on I-26 at Exit-1 (Landrum) on the South Carolina side of the border. Coming from North Carolina, you'd turn right (from SC you'd turn left) and travel down that road for about a mile and a half until you come to Brookwood Park (which will be on the left). You have to turn left off of the road you came in to town on in order to get to the parking lot for the park.

Once you've parked, get on the Brookwood Park Walking Trail. Walk down the trail for about 150 yards or until you come to the fork in the trail. Start down the left fork. Turn off the path almost immediately (before you get on the wooden foot bridge) and step down onto the bank of the creek.

Once you're standing on the bank, you should see a tree on your left that has a lot of roots growing out and showing. Get close to that tree.....kneel down and lean forward. Up underneath the tree is a "shelf" made by the roots. This is where you'll find the South Carolina Hiker.
